Did you ever get the modem to connect via PC? Interested in your progress :)

Looks like an M.I.A. he-he ... all these branded modems are firmware locked, therefore really difficult to work with.

I do have a bit of an update. I’ve been unsuccessful with Windows or ROOter, but I did get it to connect via ModemManager. It uses an NCM protocol to connect instead of MBIM or QMI, but it works. I’ve read this card Is designed for a PCIe interface in Windows instead of the typical USB, so I’m not sure if that’s part of the problem.

There was a MBIM mode you could put the card in, but it was removed in the later firmware updates.

Flashing firmware is pretty easy and uses a Intel flash tool. There is a write up over on the Whirlpool ROOter forums as well as a link to several firmware files (pulled from HP & Lenovo drivers).

Hey, that is great news. Least there is hope for good experiment.

I see the "NCM" in Windows device manger under others so that makes sense.

"Whirlpool ROOter forums". Not being lazy, just have not seen the link you speak of. Searched many times about L860-Gl and most likely not using right term, but Whirlpool never came up. You mind sharing link?

Sure. Here is a link to where the L860-GL conversations were happening last year (page 68 in archive mode). The forum is a bit hard to follow as it's one giant conversation. If you use search for L860 & 1860, you should be able to navigate through it pretty easily. https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/3vx1k1r3-12.

Here is the at command guide if you want it. https://app.box.com/s/y5t7e7ppl2ndulbpw6sji0n3dh2qwx9g
