Re: Need to start from scratch. Help novice with rural internet!

Adm1jtg, has a point it could be a SIM issue.

But it could also be hardware sense you got this off eBay you many have gotten someone else headache 🤕.

It’s hard to say. Would start out slow and replace the cheapest parts first.

FYI
Both ATT & T-Mobile both have SIM/data plans for 100Gig for $50.

Re: Question about rural setup + upload speeds

What modem are you going with? Before you get to antennas would test with the ones that are on the router. If needed bring your setup to the tower for testing to get a base line of speed. Antennas are the next level of this nut you will need to crack. Can use a Power Inverter if needed, something li...

Re: Need to start from scratch. Help novice with rural internet!

The We826 is a nice low cost unit. But that is the unit Mr-WorkingOnIt is having problems with. Would go with the WG3526-P 4G LTE WiFi PoE Router Dual Band (2.4GHz-5GHz) WiFi (ROWG3526-P) https://ltefix.com/shop/routers/lte-routers/wg3526-p Modem Sierra Wireless MC7411, CAT-7 LTE-Advanced Modem http...

Re: Remote access to WE826Q router/modem?

Best to list your goals and budget. And a little about your location like what carriers are in your area and how far you are away from the tower. The LTE store can build you a setup or you can DIY if you have time and skill set. There are also many here that could help you out. :D There is no perfec...

Re: Remote access to WE826Q router/modem?

A little over kill, you would also need a $350 new UniFi router

See https://youtu.be/jVRdrcJsbsE

The fact that the modem needs many restarts, it's a cry for help!
The LTE store has many affordable options!
Maybe time for an upgrade :ugeek:

Re: Will a signal booster/antennae setup help?

A booster would hurt more than it would help and being only 1.6 miles from the tower most likely not needed. Not sure the shelf life of 3G, would start your move to 4G. There are many affordable options at the LTE store. Start out small and go slow would be my advice. Find out what band you need to ...

Re: Better phone speed test than laptop

Also take note what server is being used for your speed test. Take good notes! I have seen my speed be cut in half from one speed test to another. Took me a while to see that the slower test was using a different server. Since this a LAN problem using a tool called Iperf3 maybe better. See link for...
